Morning Bubblers...did you miss me? did you even notice i was gone? ;0)
Today i have a really simple but effective project for you, reminiscent of those glass paperweights that my Granny used to collect and give me when she was bored of them! lol I think they make a lovely decoration and a handy super gift...not to mention being useful to hold down all those random bits of paper i seem to collect on my desk and on the kitchen worktops...
Ingredients:
UTEE in clear and a dark colour of your choice
Petaloo Jewelled Florette flowers
Tools:
Melt Pot
Cookie cutter in a shaper of your choice
Non~stick Craft Sheet
Method:
Heat your coloured UTEE in your Melt Pot until it is molten and then pour 1/4 inch layer into a cookie cutter placed onto a non~stick craftsheet. While the UTEE is still warm press your flowers into the UTEE just enough to hold them still. Leave this to cool {i had a nap and came back 2 hours later!} While your UTEE is cooling, pour the excess out of your Melt Pot and into another cutter to save for another project. Clean your pot with kitchen roll and when completely clean, melt your Clear UTEE and pour 1/4 - 1/2 inch layer over the flowers.
Like my example you may well get a few bubbles in your clear UTEE...i chose to leave them as i like the effect they give, but if you don't simply pop them with a pin while the UTEE is still hot. *be quick!!* Leave the whole thing to cool completely and then it will easily pop out of the cookie cutter mold.
Hope this project tickles your fancy...and as always do let me know if you've had a go. :0)
happy crafting,
alixxx
