Morning all :0)
Today i have another card to share...one which uses lots of embossing powder techniques...so if you're not familiar with using UTEE, you'll need to read this thoroughly to see what i've been up to!
Ingredients:
Prima Madeline pp ~ do check out the Prima paper selections now in the amazing sale...here!
UTEE ~ i've used clear but lots of other yummy colours would work well
Background rubber stamps
Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Sizzix die
Method:
First up create your card blank from patterned paper and cardstock. Swipe the gold embossing inkpad all the way around the edges and pour your UTEE powder all over the gold areas and heat from behind with a heat gun. This powder is much heavier and chunkier than detail embossing powders and won't stick to the entire inked surface so you will get a cool textured effect. When it has cooled {30 seconds} swipe a black Stazon pad around the very edge to frame the effect.
Take a luggage tag and colour this all over with various toning Distress Inks. Overstamp this with background stamps in gold and sprinkle UTEE over the whole thing. Heat this from below again to create a soft but textured effect.
To create the text embellishment i melted UTEE in Melt Pot and when it was liquid poured it onto a non~stick craft sheet. I then pressed in my inked up Tim Holtz Stamp and left it there for maybe 10 minutes to fully cool. When its cool...the stamp will lift away leaving the text impressed and printed onto the UTEE :0) This never ceases to impress me!! To make the text stand out even more, i filled the word LIFE with clear drying glue and sprinkled in microbeads and glitter. This took overnight to dry. I stuck this embellishment to the tag with strong double sided tape behind the words.
Nearly there now...The final touches involved adhering a strip of lace with the strong double sided tape to the left hand side of the card, tying a few strands of string through the hole in the tag top and adhering this with foam pads over the lace.
To complete the card add a felt or card flower cut with the sizzix die and top this with one of the lovely velvet butterflies...and you're done! {See the top photo for placement.}
Can't wait to hear what you think of this creation...so don't be shy out there...talk to me!! ;0)
