Hi there all,
Another Metlt Pot project for you this week...using a lovely Tando Creative chipboard shape and a Velvet Butterfly to create a rather striking necklace. I really enjoyed making this one...and i hope you do too :0)
Ingredients:
Tando Creative chipboard heart flourish
Text stamp
Jewellery findings
Method:
Heat the UTEE in the Melt Pot until it is molten and then dip the chipboard flourish in to cover it completely both sides. Use tweezers to remove and cool it on a non~stick craftsheet for a couple of minutes. I've used the larger of the two shapes in the pack. When its cool use a Cropadile or hole punch to make a small hole in either end to attach your jewellery findings. I strung some beads to create a simple but dramatic green necklace.
Tip most of the green embossing power out of the meltpot and add clear UTEE to create a paler version of the same colour. Dismantle one of the smaller velvet butterflies by heating it with a heat gun {this will melt the glue and it will easily come apart} then dip the butterfly into the UTEE and again remove with tweezers but this time press it onto a script stamp inked with gold ink. This will be cool in about a minute. Dip the body of the butterfly into the gold ink and emboss several times to create a solid gold body and use a little wire to create two curly antennae.
Assemble the butterfly as shown below using a hot glue gun to attach the pieces together.
And there you have it, a beautiful and unique necklace and a super gift for someone you love...or a treat for yourself ;0)
Thanks for stopping by and i look forward to your comments,
alix
