I have been altering things for years and I just love the transformation from being plain and a bit boring to beautiful and colourful. This A5 sized book started life as a plain buff coloured hardback note book and I have added a few things to it to give it a new lease of life.
I started off by cutting two pieces of patterned paper to cover the front and back of the book and used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to blend around the edges. I then used a sanding block to remove the edges of the paper, giving it a white, worn look. Before I glued these to the book, I used an Espresso Dabber to colour the spine and edges of the book and then Multi Medium to glue the papers onto the covers. I used Grungepaper to make the flower and leaf embellishment... colouring with different Distress Inks to make a striking adornment. The little LOVE charm in the centre is from The Girls Paperie... it is a little epoxy embellie set into a metal holder with a little gem dangly.
I cut the "straps" from Grungepaper and painted them black, sanded them, added Vintage Photo DI and then added a little stud... then glued them to the book using Multi Medium. The word Journal was created in Word and printed off... it is This Charming Font in bold - loving this font!
The Ingredients I used are:
Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Forest Moss, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Barn Door and Brushed Corduroy
