So... one of the things that I am really bad at is remembering to use "old" stamps... I always seem to get dazzled by the new rubberstamps and forget that I do have some rather lovely stamps in my collection. I have made myself keep a new "resolution" where I try to use those older stamps at least twice a week... and today's tag is just that... a veritable feast of "old stamps". Now, it just so happens that Bubbly Funk have some of these older designs from Tim Holtz... and... they are on sale at the moment too! (Perfect time to grab a bargain!) I used Regal Findings... I just love the tree and the lion rampant on this sheet... the lion is there on the tag but Brolly Man is actually covering him up a bit...
Anyways... the base of the tag was coloured using Distress Stains (oh what did I do before Stains were alive? lol) I smooshed Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo on to my craft sheet, llightly misted with water and then dunked the tag into the inkiness. Drying with a heatgun works the best because the droplets of colour stay in the same place... you can leave it to air dry but the intensity of the colour sometimes fades away.
I cut the On The Edge "On The Fence" using Grungeboard, coated with a generous layer of Picket Fence Cracklepaint, once dried, I slapped some Walnut Stain Distress Stains, which then soak into the crackles and age it nicely. Umbrella Man and the Cogs were cut from mountboard and coloured with Distress Stains and Distress Ink and I added some Idea-ology to the tag to finish.
The Ingredients I used are:
Sizzix Alterations - On The Fence
Sizzix Alterations - Umbrella Man
Sizzix Alterations - Gadget Gears
Thanks for looking... have a grand weekend
