Morning Bubblies and welcome to another week of crafty fun. Today's offering is a cute Birthday Book that i've made from a rather stylish sheet of Prima pp from the Melody collection.
Ingredients:
Viva Croco Crackle paint in Turquoise
Chipboard flower and circle and blanks to create book covers
Hair bobble
Scraps of ribbon
Bind it All wire or book rings
Method:
First off paint a chipboard flower roughly the same size as your Prima flower with the Viva Croco to colour co~ordinate it. Leave this to dry overnight.
Cut two chipboard offcuts to 6x4" and cover with the brown and turquoise patterned paper. I've used the spotty side for the insides of the covers and the floral pattern for the outsides. Cut the pages from an old notebook or copy paper and trim 1/4" shorter in both directions than the covers. Alternatively you could make the pages from photographs :0)
Use a Bind it all to create the holes and bind with bronze wire. If you don't have a Bind it All...you could hole punch some openings and use book rings instead. Set a turquiose eyelet in the back cover and thread the bobble through this, looping to create...a loop! This will fasten your book when close it.
Add letter stickers to create your title and a section of ribbon for interest in the middle. Tie ribbons around the wires or rings for added pizazz and flair. Finally, using a strong glue attach a 1" circle of chipboard to the front of your book and on top of this glue the chipboard flower and then the Prima flower. When dry, this will form a sturdy closure for your bobble elastic.
I do hope you'll have a go at this project...its an ideal one for a quick gift for almost anyone!
