Evening everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday. It has been a while since I did a book review and after last week's Shabby Chic chip book I thought I would share one of my favourite books and give you a chance to see one of the places I get inspiration from.
Lisa Pace is a well known name to those that love shabby chic, vintage
style scrapbooking. In
Delight in the Details: 40+ Techniques for Charming
Embellishments and Accents
, she shares her expertise and gives us lots of tips on how to achieve a bit of vintage style on
our own projects.
"I wanted you to have something a bit unexpected with every turn of
the page," Lisa certainly achieves her aim ...
It is made up of five chapters:
A Delightful Place to Create
Lisa shows us her creative space and highlights a few of her
favourite storage and organizational places - this gives you a desire to make everything shabby and chic in your own space!
Sparkle & Shine
Lisa supplies the hows with ideas for every level of scrapper from something as
simple as edging elements with glitter glue to creating delicate wire
sprays with beads and charms.
Paint & Ink
This chapter includes ideas to
add dimension, she creates the most amazing faux porcelain flowers and a simple technique
to add texture to a project with paste.
Pattern & Texture
In this chapter she shows you how to make Crepe Paper Rosettes and some of the most beautiful blooms and flowers I have ever seen. She incorporates materials into mini books in such a way that you just cannot take your eyes off them.
Vintage Finds & Dimension
Remember Pipe Cleaners ... well I have never seen them look this good; Lisa uses them to create a vine and shows so many ways to use vintage ephemera as well as book pages.
And as if all this was n't enough ... the gallery at the end is beautiful!
And for those of you that don't do much scrapping ... and that applies to me ... the ideas that are included in the book work so well with chip... in fact any project you like!
Have a good week!
