Morning Bubblies!
This week I have a card to share with you. As you'll see mine I made for Mothers' Day, but by changing the text it would make a lovely spring Birthday card or just a general "Hello", so don't feel limited by the fact that Mothers' Day has been and gone!
To make the card is simple. Firstly distress the edges of the blueish paper with scissors or a distressing tool, and layer this onto a 6 1/2 inch square of Core'dinations cardstock which you have sanded all around the edges. Layer this onto a cardbase made from yellow Core'dinations cardstock which you have cut to 7 inches by 10 1/2 inches to create a half fold on the front. Again sand all around the egdes. Be careful not to stick the front panel so that the card won't open! ;0)
Using a printer, print your message onto copier paper, and when you are happy with the positioning, simply use some low tack tape to adhere the patterned paper over the text and run through your printer again. Trim this to size and distress the edges. Layer this over the bluey panel.
To create the flower centre~piece, cut a piece of the green Core'dination with the largest part of the Tattered Florals die and sand the edges. Fold the petals in half to create dimension. Layer onto this a Sweet Taffy flower and a wooden button and stitch together with embroidery floss. Glue this to the front of your card and add a few gems to finish.
As your card is 7 x 7 inches and not a standard size, you might like to do what I did with mine and wrap it in tissue paper and tie with a matching ribbon and tag. I do this alot as it feels like a present and a card in one!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like the card...but most of all I hope all you Mothers out there had a wonderful day and were spoilt rotten! :-)

This week I've been making some general birthday cards. The 'Happy Days' collection from Echo Park is just perfect for birthdays. It's full of bright and colourful papers, together with a few black and white retro designs for contrast.
1. Take an A6 tent fold card blank and cover the card front with patterned paper.
2. Cut a panel of the graph paper design and adhere to the card front leaving a narrow border.
3. Concertina fold a 4.5 cm strip paper at .5 cm intervals to form the cupcake base.
4. Draw the cupcake frosting on the reverse of a contrasting paper design and cut out. Create some movement by handstitching swirls using one strand of embroidery floss.
5. Add a flower embellishment and sentiment to finish.
Supplies Needed:
Sentiment
Flower Embellishment
White Embroidery Floss

As you can see I'm still making 'Thank you' cards. I found this cool technique whilst browsing on one of my favourite blogs. Debossing with chipboard shapes.
You need to experiment with different chipboard shapes and cardstock. I found that using larger shapes on textured cardstock gave a better result.
The sandwich I used in the Cuttlebug was, from the bottom, A Plate, C Plate, B Plate cardstock then chipboard shape.
Supplies List
Echo Park 6 x 6 Pad - Victoria Gardens
Crepe Paper frill
Seam Binding
Simple but effective. Hope you like it.

Ingredients
Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen 12 x 12 Collection
Melissa Frances Kitschy Kichen Stickers
Prima Cottage Blossoms Orchids
Cupcake shape card
Pink Buttons and Ribbon
Scallop Circle Punch
Here's How
The Kitschy Kitchen papers are perfect for making cupcake cards.
First I traced around the top of the card on to pink paper for the icing.
To create the cupcake case I took a sheet of the paper and folded it as if I was making a fan! :) I then flattened the whole thing and adhered it to the card base. Trim an excess off.
Next add the pink topping and smear on some of the stickles for some sparkle.
Add a strip of paper to the base edge of the icing and add some buttons.
Punch the scallop circle and adhere to the top with a button in the centre.
Finish the card with a prima flower, Kitschy Kitchen sticker and pink ribbon.

Morning Bubblers!
Today I have a very Autumnal looking puzzle card for you.
Ingredients:
Ranger Colourwash Sprays in Butterscotch and Cranberry
Cosmic Shimmer Mist in Golden Fish
This card was created on a puzzle blank but if you don't have one, you can always sand down an actual jigsaw! I created a similar one earlier in the week so if you'd like step by step instructions see my personal blog :0)
I hope you agree this is a really fun way to send a message to someone...i like to un~make the puzzle and send the pieces in an envelope so the recipient has to make the puzzle before they can see either the picture or the handwritten message on the reverse! ;0)
happy crafting one and all...alix!

Ingredients
I've been making birthday cards this week using Maya Road chipboard cupcakes. I've added texture by creating a cake case, folding the patterned paper, and added bead "sprinkles" to the top of both cakes. Little touches of colour appear by inking the edges of the paper covered chipboard and using Maya Mist to colour the chipboard frames. I used glitter and glossy accents for a bit of birthday sparkle too.
Happy Saturday
