Project Thankful

 
I'm in the midst of exam marking again right now and haven't had a moment to be crafty :(  So I was going to continue my underground inspiration tour and then I remembered that it's Thanksgiving in the USA this week and I thought I'd think about giving thanks as a point of inspiration this week instead. 

There are loads of inspirational 'thanks' related things out there.  Tessa Buys, for example, has had a month long 'Attitude of Gratitude' going on her blog this month and is thinking of things to be thankful about all month and there are lots of pretty things on her blog. 

There's this pretty candle from the coordinations blog by Melissa Oliveira :

There's an unusal LO by Larissa Albanez and a lovely 'Thanks' pen set by Ally White on the Crate Paper blog that you could easily make using Caroline's chip daisies, some more ribbon and some chipboard alphas.

And I love this LO by Shirly on the SuzyQ blog:

And I bet there are always people you can send a card to. 

There are some great quotes to do with thanks out there but perhaps my favourite is this 'Silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone.  ~G.B. Stern'.  So this week, why not show your thanks for someone or something and come back here to share it once you're done.  And I'll share where this thought led me with you next week...

1 sketch 2 layouts part 2 - by Mahlin

Hello everyone..

I am home alone this week.. My hubby took the little one on a train and went up north to go fishing for a week..  Can you guess what I am doing? oh yes.. I´ll be scrapping! a lot! And you´ll be seeing the result on Tuesdays right here!

Remember last week, I made a layout about my scared little santa, I used 5 pieces of chipboard and I used my third sketch as inspiration...

Well, this is part two. I took the same sketch and made another layout, with totally different papers, decorations and style and I used the same 5 chipboard shapes.

I used: 2Crafty Chipboard - Tabs, Framedangoes # 6,    2Crafty Chipboard - Love Birds,  Plain Janes - Seventies

Hi, it's me again..

This sunny Tuesday I bring my last sketch for June.  Remember? You have til 30th June to complete  a layout/s based on one, two or three of my June sketches to be eligible to win the great prize.  So get scrapping, or create a card using the sketch!  =)

I thought I'd show how different you can interpret sketches. I took this weeks sketch and made two completely different layouts but with the same pieces of chipboard. This is the first part so I'll only show my first take on the sketch. Part two will go live next Tuesday..

You should have seen me when I opened up my Bubbly Funk package.. My jaw dropped and I was just overwhelmed by all that yummy chipboard.  It was so inspiring.  I could hardly wait to get scrapping.. I finally did and this is what I came up with..

This weeks Whispers of Colour was inspired by a bag I recently bought from  my local Tesco.

They are being sold to raise money for the Worcestershire Breast Cancer Campaign. 

So lovely bright hues of Hot Pink and White are this weeks whispers........leave a comment if these colours inspire you to make a project........

Vanilla Sugar isn't a typical challenge blog as such - we create handmade projects every month in the hope of inspiring you to think past the normal paper projects and go for something a bit more daring.  If you do any of the projects we show then please let us know as we would love to see.

The Jan project was Decorative Coasters, Feb project was Hanging Hearts, March was Fabric Mini Books and April the Birdhouses.  In time the Vanilla Sugar blog will be a gorgeous compilation of handmade ideas and projects which you can draw on from time to time.

I know I said I would show another method for covering embossed chipboard today but I didn't realise the date!  Its the first of the month and time for another Vanilla Sugar Challenge!

So I will hold off the embossing until the weekend - pop back then for that.

Here we are, on a Saturday already, and with a new weekly challenge to help your mojo!

Its called Whispers of Colour, and each week I will show you a combination of photos showing certain colours which I hope will inspire you in your crafts.

"Violette Wings" - Over to You! - by Kathy

Hi there

This week I thought I'd try something a bit different and lay down a little challenge.  Pretty much every day the Team here on BS share something they've made using the various kits and other fab stuff you can buy from  Bubbly Funk.
This week though, I'd like to see more of what the people who read this blog are making! 
 

So I've come up with a sketch design which I hope you'll find interesting and inspiring to use in whatever way you fancy - it could be for a card, a scrap LO or maybe for the front of a book or top of a box - anything goes - I just want a chance to see the things you make!

The names of those who join in with this challenge will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a prize from Bubbly Funk - so that's got to be worth trying for, eh?

Design Team Call for Bubbly Scrumptious Challenges...

For the Bubbly Scrumptious Challenges Blog we are looking for a further two or three DT members.

Someone who can commit to producing a project each week to fit in with the challenge theme.  Challenges are every Sunday - with a bigger challenge first Sunday of the month where participants can win a prize.

Someone who is happy to work with their own stash and on occasion work with products sent to them from Bubbly Funk.  Most of the time it will be working on a project to a specific theme with your own stash, but there will be times when it would be nice to highlight certain products from the shop, which will be sent to you in advance.

You will need to promote Bubbly Scrumptious Challenges on your Blog and any Forum you visit.  We will send you a blinkie to add to your blog.

The DT position will initially be for a period of three months.

Applications welcome from UK and International.

~ Email me (link in right hand column) with three images of your best and favourite work.  A variety of projects is good!

~ Let us know if you are a scrapbooker, cardmaker or into altered art/home decor.  You can include different types of projects, but let us know what your speciality is.

Using Pins...

Our Challenge last Sunday was to Use Pins in a project.

On 2Peas there is a lovely article showing 5 Ways to Use Pins which I thought you might find useful and it might give you some inspiration to join in our challenge!  

You can enter the weekly challenges anytime - we can add your project to the blog even if its not the current challenge.  if you want to stick to the current challenge then don't forget to check out our challenge blog tomorrow where there will be a new weekly challenge with examples from the designers.
