Morning all...welcome to the new week...and lets hope its as sunny as the weekend was, eh? :0)
This week i've made a card to share with you, using one of the gorgeous Tando masks as an embossing stencil. Its not the most obvious use of a mask...but it is another way to use them, and i hope you'll agree...the results can be really *impressive*...see what i've done there..?? *apologies to anyone with an actual sense of humour!!*
Ingredients:
Tando Leaves Mask {there are two masks in the pack and i've used the floral one}
Coloured core cardstock...Tim's distress cardstock is in store now :0)
Assorted brads
Gemstones
Ribbon
Method:
Cut a piece of coloured core cardstock to 6"x6" and emboss the floral spray along the top edge using a die cutter such as the Big Shot with an embossing mat. Lay the cardstock good side down on the embossing mat and using an embossing tool or a pencil, gently emboss some stems for the lowest flowers. Go over this a couple of times rather than go heavily once as you may tear the cardstock :0)
Turn the cardstock back over to the good side and sand with a sanding block or a large emery board to reveal the colour beneath the surface. Give your cardstock a good wipe with a towel or your sleeve to remove all the dust!
Add assorted brads to the flower centres and a smattering of gemstones for a little bit of twinkle.
Following the example at the top of the page, add a strip of wide ribbon along the lower portion of the cardstock and on top of this, add a narrow ribbon. Fold the ends and secure them on the back. Tie an oversized bow and glue this centrally on top of the ribbon. Matt this section onto a co~ordinating piece of cardstock.
To create the card base i have used pieces of 7 1/2"x 6 1/2" cardstock and scored the front 1" from the lefthand edge, then glued the two pieces together. I've stamped a message and added some more assorted brads for decoration. When you've done this, glue your matted section to the card front and swipe all around with a toning inkpad. Easy, huh?
Thanks for stopping by today and i do hope you like the project...and will have a go at something similar...the Tando masks are really substantial and excellent for this technique...i think i'll have to get myself the whole set!!
Bye for now...alix
