I have used one of the wooden arches to make this (well half of one anyway). Firstly using my nifty screwdriver I took it to bits. It was then given a coat of distress stain in Wild Honey which when dry I crackled cream paint over the top of before laying torn text over part of the arch.
Using the movers and shapers mini cogs die I cut 3 of each from funky foam glued them together and now I have a nice little foam stamp to use of each of the die shapes. I stamped these over the background using brown archival ink.
I also cut 2 of each of the cog shapes from a medium weight card, that I inked with distress ink and after it had dried I highlighted it withviva Inka gold in copper.
I cut the clock and hands using the weathered clock die from chipboard, this I painted with a thin layer of viva crackle paint ( a thin coat doesn't crackle it just gives a nice metallic colour) The hands I painted in black acrylic.
I then layered these onto the arch shape as shown. When the hands were glued in place I coated them in glossy accents adding a reclaimed watch cog at the center of them.
The hinges are gunge board painted with black acrylic and a gold dabber and then bashed a bit with a texture hammer before gluing them in place. The "screws" are some of long fasteners that were denting in the middle once in place to give the apperance of screws.
I added a metal fairy onto the clock hand, I have just rubbed a bit of the Inka Gold over it to make it fit better in with the colour scheme.
The door handle is a pocket watch part and the key is an old clock winding key.
