This week I have been mostly... making cards! I know, I am virtuous as ever and the resolution I made at New Year is still intact... just lol Anyways, I have been playing with mountboard offcuts and some Sizzix Alterations dies and made a little card:
I used patterned papers for the base of the card, swiping a bit of watered down Traditional Tan paint onto them to dull back the pattern... and then used Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo Distress Stains to colour over the paper. The dressform and bobbin were cut from mountboard that had been covered with the same paper = I used Multi Medium - Matte - to glue the paper to the mountboard. The Sewing Room Alterations die is one of my faves and the beauty of the Alterations ranges is they will cut through thicker materials than a standard die... this is because the blades are deeper than standard ones.
I used the Caged Bird die to cut a birdcage from Grungeboard... and then cut this down so it could be added to the dressform... painting it gold, sanding it back and then blending Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it so it looks aged. I added some ribbon and abit of Idea-oology Trim to the middle of the dressform and dangled charms from it.
The Ingredients I used are:
Tim Holtz Alterations: Sewing Room & Caged Bird
Idea-ology - Mini Safety Pins and Trims
Thanks for looking... have a goodly weekend!
Hels x
