I have been playing with Distress Stains again this week and have made a tag to show you.
If you haven't tried Distress Stains yet... you really need to! They are FAB! They are made from exactly the same ink that is used in a Distress Pad... and it is held in a suspension and presented in a bottle that has a dauber top, so applying them is really easy.
And.. the beauty of the Stains is that they react exactly the same way with water as the Inks do... so you can cover a huge surface area in no time at all and still get the same mottled and splotchy effects with water.
The Stains are now in all of the Distress Ink colour range, plus a white one, which is called Picket Fence and is one of my new faves. I haven't used that one on this tag because I wanted to show you the basics on how versatile they are.
I used Old Paper, Tea Dye, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire Stains on this tag base... and blended over the top of them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to get the shabby and distressed look.
I used the "Wrinkle Free Distress" technique to colour the tag base... smooshing the Stains onto a craft sheet and spritzing ever so slightly with water.. and then dipping the tag into the ink and drying and redipping until I had the look I wanted.
I also used the Stains to stamp the background dots... and dried them straight away with a heat gun before blending Vintage Photo over the top.
The flower was made from white card and cut with the Tattered Florals Alterations die... and then coloured with Stormy Sky Stains... and over stamped with a script and Coffee Archival.
The Ingredients I used are:
Alterations - Tattered Florals
Thanks for looking... have a good weekend
Hels x
