Hi Bubblies,
I've been away from home more than I would have liked for the last few weeks...and my garden full of pot plants is really suffering from the lack of attention. One of my favourites is the woodland hydrangea so I was really sad to see this had all but died...but fret not...after a fair bit of uhmming and ahhhing...I've worked out how to make my own paper hydrangeas that will not let me down even I let them down! :0) Why not have a go at making a few of your own to create an everlasting bouquet...or to add to a (thriving) pot plant?
Ingredients:
Double sided patterned cardstock
Sequin pins
Polystyrene ball
Begin by punching LOTS of small flowers from the pp of your choice. Mine was a really pretty Christmas paper but it doesn't look at all Christmassy when its made into a flower, does it??
Once you have punched a mountain of flowers, begin attaching them to the ball with the pins and lifting the petals to increase the dimension and make them look like a hydrangea. The effect we're creating is where all the flowers on the flower head seem to compete for attention...*hmmmmm this could be why I like them* ;0)
Continue in this manner until you have completely covered the ball. Cute, huh?
Next time I'll show you what i'm doing with mine...but for today...*that's all folks*...
happy crafting one and all,
alix
