Welcome to the new week Bubblies!
I hope you've been enjoying the sunshine over the weekend...and are raring to get back into the crafting zone today ;) This week my project for you is an altered frame which i've used to frame this sweet picture of my FIL and my hubby in the glorious sunshine.
Ingredients:
Viva Decor Croco in gold and turquoise {or you own favourite colours!}
Prima Reflections glittered chipboard sheet
Prima Reflections pebbles with gems
Frame to decorate...that famous Swedish shop does one very similar to this...or you could cut a shape out of chipboard to make your own! :)
Method:
The first thing to do it to choose your chipboard shapes and decide how you want to arrange them on your frame. I did this by sticking them to a piece of clear packaging placed over the frame :)
Next using a lolly stick, apply a thick, generous layer of Viva Croco gold crackle all over the front of the frame. While the paint is wet remove the backing from the chipboard stickers and sink them into the croco, you won't need any glue...as the paint dries it will attach the chipboard firmly for you. Leave this overnight to dry fully and then cover the sides and the insides of the aperture with the Viva croco in turquoise, again leave to dry overnight.
Once the croco is fully dry add drops of Hazelnut Alchol Ink randomly to add the rich dark tones you see above. You can do this to a greater or lesser extent depending on personal preference. As well as colouring the surface of the gold paint, the ink will seek between the cracks and give a really deep look to your crackle. Repeat this on the turquoise areas too.
Remove the pearl from the centre of the Kalanchoe flower and replace it with a pebble and the gem ring, adding this to the frame sticker.
Then glue the pearl we just removed from the flower, onto the design on this chipboard shape. Waste not, want not, eh?
Finally, take the Memories rubon and...well...rub it on to this chipboard frame...add your photo...and admire your handiwork!
