Bubbly Scrumptious

It's been a while....

Its been a few months since this lovely blog saw any blogging :(

....but I am now back and raring to go!  sort of. :)

I adore this blog and all the wonderful projects, hints and tips that my talented design teams have added over the years.  I don't know anywhere else which gives such a crafty source of inspiration.

But now I am doing it solo, so to speak.

I closed the brick and mortar shop last September 2012.  Since then I have tried very hard (and succeeded actually!) to fit the remains of my shop into my home - thank goodness for Ikea Expedit storage lol, and a mahoosive loft.  I am once again back to working online only and spending more time at home with my gorgeous kiddies (not kiddies really as they are 20, 17 and 15!)  and trying desperately to be a wonderful Mum and homemaker.  Both of which I felt were lacking a little trying to run a brick and mortar shop as well.

I also have a wonderful partner who I can spend some dedicated time with.  Love him. :)

and my doggie Sam isn't on his lonesome all day as I am here at home again.

Sooooo, my plans for the website and this blog are quite simple.  I am actually very desperate to create a simple life with as few complications and fuss as possible.  The website will continue to have craft items for sale, and the original stock on there at the moment will shortly be going into a ridiculous sale.  I'll be sure to let you know when thats ready.

I will also be adding items for sale which I have created myself.  I am getting back to my grass roots if you like.  I originally started Bubbly Funk in 2005 out of my love for creating and crafts.  That hobby diminished as the website grew and then the brick and mortar shop came along and it became nigh on impossible for me to have any creative time at all.

My kids are more grown up now and I am finding I really do have more time to create and run the website more effectively.  I am loving being home again and its my love for this that makes me want to make the Bubbly Scrumptious blog a haven for handmade and homemade inspiration.  So I will be posting recipes which are tried and tested, any crafty item I create, hints and tips for simple living, and anything of general interest I think my readers might give a hoot about.

And, if you live local to Worcester you can see the start of my handmade items in a local shop - Kidz, in Charles Street.  Bespoke cushions and some handmade card for starters with plans to do much more.

I am quite excited.  New ideas and a revamp is always good for a business and I am always looking to be a little different.....watch this space!!

New DT Member - Vicky Sheridan

I'm Vicky and I am really pleased and excited to be part of the Bubbly Funk Design Team.  Before I get started here's a little bit about my 'crafting' career.

 

I've always dabbled in a bit of sewing and knitting since my schooldays.   I made the odd cushion cover and knitted jumper, but only got into papercrafting  about three years ago.  I got so frustrated with the lack of 'different' cards available in the shops I had a go at making my own and from then on I was was hooked!

 

I like to experiment with different card base shapes and as well as cards, to create altered items, mini albums and 3d projects.   I've recently become fascinated with upcycling.  I love the idea of creating something from almost nothing and am always creating cards from my scraps.

I get a lot of inspiration from home decor and fashion magazines and websites.  I find they're great for spotting the latest design and colour trends.

 

I'm really looking forward to sharing my cards and projects with you on the blog and can't wait to get started on my first project!

Hi Everyone

 
I am Carol whom some of you may know as Ginger. I am really pleased to have joined the Bubbly Funk Team.
I am going to be Tuesdays child on here, following the other new member Alix who is on a Monday.
I started crafting when I was very little. I was an avid fan of Blue Peter, and The Generation Game on a Saturday Night was the highlight of my week. I have now moved on a little bit from those and I am now into mixed media and altered art.

 

I love to use old items in the things I make, because I think that all these old things were once love by someone and I like to think of them being loved again.

 

I love to craft and I enjoy nothing better than getting all messy in my craft room and trying out new things. On a more normal note, I volunteer a couple of mornings a week in a charity shop and I have an allotment where I like to potter in the summer.  

You may have seen my work around in Craft stamper, in blog land or on Past design teams

I am really looking forward to working with the present team and Caroline at bubbly Funk.

All of a Buzz............for CHA

Well this has to be one of the most exciting times in the crafting year - CHA - Craft & Hobby Assoctians trade show in LA :D

All of the crafting industry launch their new ranges to the retailers there so that they can snap them up and bring them back home to us :D

Yeah, its a good bit later for us in the UK, but we are patient peeps aren't we??? well maybe not LOL

Keep an eye on Tim Holtz BLOG as he is revealing his sneak peeks daily - and they are looking pretty good so far :D

Prima are also revealing their new products daily on their BLOG - my fave so far is the botanical collection and the dachire flowers and leaves.

Maya Road are being a little bit more mysterious and not revealing theirs until next week :(

However if you are following them on Facebook you should have seen that they have the most amazing offer up for grabs!!! if you post a pic of yor maya projects they are in with a chance of being on display at CHA ...............AND you win a goody bag!!!!

There are loads of Sneaky peeks floating around the net so why not check out your fave companyand see whats coming :D

My personal faves are Websters Pages, Graphic 45 (who are releasing stamps to go with their papers....I feel feint at the thought!!!),  and the lovely Tim Holtz :D
